If you're starting out on the long road 'Around the World in Eighty Trojans', this is the place to start. Get your trusty bagman to pack for the duration, say your goodbyes, and delve in. |
Ch1 Where Philleas organizes a tour Last years Battlestar Trojans saw some hockey, snow and £13,000 of beer drunk (mostly purple space juice) This years theme is 'Around the World in Eighty Trojans' where we only have immigration visas for 24 different countries. So if you want to become meet Phileas and Passportou, as they return from their world tour, why not get on your elephant, in your balloon, or in the Paddle-steamer, and come to welcome them back. Ch 2 Where Philleas camps overnight For those of you with a keen interest in geography the Reform club has hired the Trojans Sports club in Hampshire, with 16 acres of sports fields, originally designed by Capability Brown. Over the Easter Weekend they will be welcoming back Philleas and Passportou (hopefully) from their epic global voyage. When not hired by the Reform club, Trojans is a multi sports club, which has its advantages at an Easter hockey festival. The floodlit rugby pitch makes a perfect camp-site ( included in the price), whilst the three on-site bars, function rooms, changing rooms, and squash courts provide for the full range of festival opportunities. If Hockey is your thing we have 2 top notch astro, plus, if its not snowing (and it did last year) excellent grass pitches. There is no need to leave the site. Ch 3 The inclusive ticket? If you're travelling round the world, you don't want to have to buy lots of different tickets, you want to get one ticket for every elephant journey, balloon trip and steamer that you'll use. The all inclusive festival ticket costs £40 per head, for each team member. This includes the on-site camping, entry to each nights entertainment, at least five games, with umpires, transport to or from Airport, railway station, or steamer port, and this year two evening meals per person. It doesn't include other food, which is available all day, jungle juice, which comes in a variety of colours, (mainly purple), or accommodation in any of the local hostelries. (If you don't want to camp there is a premier travel lodge, and a holiday inn about a mile away. - We can supply further details.) Ch 4 Where Passportou looks for directions For one weekend only, The Reform Club is welcoming Philleas back from his journey, at its Hampshire sports grounds. From all over the world people are travelling to celebrate his success. If your elephant has sat nav, direct them to SO50 9HT, by balloon, Southampton Airport is less than a mile away, by steamer we are a mile from the head of the Itchen, and the Great Western Railway terminus at Southampton Airport Parkway is also less than a mile away The club has a small carriage which can pick up teams from the airport. Recently Flybe have started using Southampton as a major base www.flybe.com, and you can fly to Southampton from most of the UK, and abroad very cheaply. ( If you are coming by elephant, tug the left ear hard just after going under the motorway)
